WHSAA Golf Outing Raises Over $2800 for WHS Scholarship Foundation
1st place awards went to the team of Tom Martin, Ray Miller, Tim Bell, and Stu Hartwell, shooting 14 under par (58)
Thanks to the hard work of the Outing Committee, and the generosity of our 88 golfers, the 17 th Annual West High School Alumni Association Golf Outing raised $2874.91 for the WHS Scholarship Foundation!
Groveport Municipal Golf Course provided a great course, and the Paddock Pub served a delicious meal for our golfers and volunteers. Once again, the Golf Gods gave us a beautiful day. We are also very grateful to the 31 people and
organizations who provided hole sponsor signs.
Individual winners of the day were as follows:
– 1st place awards went to the team of Tom Martin, Ray Miller, Tim Bell, and Stu Hartwell, shooting 14 under par (58)
– Closest to Pin Award went to Steve Ator
– Long Drive for the men went to Steve Hedges
– Long Drive for the ladies went to Georgia Martin Ward
– Long Putt was awarded to Bill Crawford
– The Pink Ball/Fireball Contest was won by the team of Holly Brink Horn, David Horn, Gordon Schilling, and Robert Schilling
– The 50/50 winner was Karen Krueger Barnard. And she was so kind as to give back half of her winnings to the Scholarship Fund
I personally have so many people to thank. I am lucky to have a group of dedicated volunteers who donate their time and money every year to make this a successful event. They donate door prizes and gift certificates. They get sponsors to purchase signs and they work all day to make things run smoothly. Please join me in thanking the following committee members: Eli Bowen, Stacy Neff Campbell, Leslye Creek, Dave Dobos, Dorance Nichols Hornsby, Lynn Johnson, Nick Joseph, Steve Scarpitti, Karen Stattmiller and Rosalie Martin Williams for all their hard work.
I also want to thank all the golfers who come out every year to support this very worthy cause. Over the years you have helped raise over $35,000 for the Scholarship Foundation. I truly appreciate every one of you!
If you are a golfer and have not joined us in the past, I hope you will consider golfing with us next summer. If you played with us this year, I hope to see you again next August 8, 2025. (Mark your calendars now). If you have suggestions or are interested in helping in future events, please reach out to me or one of the committee members. And watch the newsletter and website for details on all WHSAA activities.
God bless and go Cowboys!
