Alumni filled the Lobby early. Norma Carter Heyl '46 providing directions.

Everyone was anxious to register, get their name tags, and start their tour.

The same display cases.............. we remember them well.

Everyone was patient with our volunteers - who, by the way, did a wonderful job of moving everyone through the lines as quickly as they could,

The lines continued as more and more alumni arrived.

Volunteers 'manning' the Memory Book sales - Sharon Dent Pennell '58 Jan., Stan Deitchle '47 (who came all the way from Battlefield, MO to volunteer), and Alberta Seely Schneider '47. Alberta chaired the Memory Book Committee and spent many, many hours researching old yearbooks and school newspapers for the information.

12:30PM -
The 2004 West Team and Coaches with their Runner's-Up Trophy for the Columbus Schools' League.
At 12:30 the team and coaches also celebrated the dedication of the West Baseball Diamonds and new dugouts as Alumni Field.

Most of the work was done by volunteers.
Coach Wordon tells the attendees about the process they had gone through to build the new dugouts. Two were built at the boy's playing field and two at the girl's playing field.

Coach Wordon thanks Nancy for her help in getting Alumni Association funding to help with the dugout construction. He also thanked Donald Borror '47 for his donation of the wood that was used to build the dugout roofs.
Baseball team members listen to Coach Wordon talk about the construction process and the help provided by many to get the project accomplished. The team was having a cookout to celebrate their Runners-up finish in the City League Championship game the day before.

The West Ensemble started the program in the Auditorium with selections from their wonderful spring program.
Their enthusiasm was contagious.
Everyone appreciated their professionalism and energy.

Many in attendance joined the speakers on stage to say hello and remember their days at West.
A fan who knew Aurealius Thomas '52 would be speaking brought an OSU football helmet for Aurealius to autograph. Many others also had Aurealius autograph their 75th Anniversary programs. Judge Graham is also autographing a program.

In the hallway, going south from the lobby -
tables were filled with 75th Anniversary Logo items for sale bricks and pavers were sold, Association memberships were purchased,
a gift basket was raffled-off,
and West yearbooks were sold!

They will be installed this summer in the front lawn of West around the concrete and brick West sign.
The dedication ceremony is planned for 8/21/04.

Ed Schmidt '45, Association President from '96 - '99, brought one of his 'earlier' paintings that he did while a student at OSU in the late 40s.

Jerry Ocock's aerial photo of West that he took prior to the former Greenhouse / central area being enclosed which resulted in the Library being moved from west side of the the 3rd floor to the new first floor area.

The Alumni Dance Band had a large contingent playing.
They sounded great, even in the Gym where the acoustics weren't that good.
